The Power of Vision in Turning Pain to Purpose

Updated: 2 days ago

Then the Lord answered me and said: ‘Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.’”
– Habakkuk 2:2-3 NKJV

Every December for the past 13 years, I’ve made it a priority to retreat—not just for myself but with others. These retreats are intentional moments to pause, pray, reflect, and plan for the upcoming year. They’ve been a powerful tool in navigating life’s challenges, especially during those “messy middle” seasons when the journey feels unclear.

Three years ago, I introduced my Transformational Planner to our group. This planner isn’t just a tool; it’s a guide for aligning your goals with God’s purpose. Over the years, I’ve witnessed incredible testimonies from those who’ve used it:

✨ New businesses launched.

✨ Careers aligned with purpose.

✨ Hearts healed from trauma.

✨ Dreams reignited.

Writing the vision, as instructed in Habakkuk 2:2, is not just a spiritual exercise—it’s a strategy for focus and faith. When life feels overwhelming, a written vision reminds you of your “why.” It keeps you anchored in God’s promises and provides clarity when the path forward seems uncertain.

If you haven’t set your vision for this year yet, let me encourage you: it’s not too late. It doesn’t have to be complicated or perfect. A simple vision board or a list of goals is enough to start. What matters is that you pause, pray, and make it plain.

God specializes in turning pain into purpose. Your story—no matter how challenging—is part of a bigger plan. Writing your vision is a declaration of faith that God will bring it to fruition in His perfect time.

Affirmation:

"I will write my vision, trusting God to use it to transform my pain into purpose and lead me into His perfect plan at the appointed time."

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for the gift of vision and purpose. As I reflect and plan, I invite You to guide every step of the process. Help me to see Your hand in the details and to trust Your timing, even when the journey feels long. Thank You for turning my pain into purpose and for using my life as a testimony of Your faithfulness. Amen.

Action Point:

Set aside an hour this week to create your vision for the year. Use tools like the Transformational Planner or a simple vision board to write down your goals and dreams. Pray over them, and share your vision with someone you trust for accountability.
